The distillery experience begins with entry to the interactive and informative museum to wander through the repurposed 70,000 litre maturation vats that were used to mature and age the rum. Next, is a 1 hour guided tour inside the Bundaberg Rum distillery to see the giant Molasses wells that can hold up to 5 million litres of Molasses, view the distillation and fermentation process in action and then finish at the Barrel House to hear how the rums are aged and matured for a minimum of 2 years. On completion of the tour, taste any two top shelf rums from the range. The Bundaberg Rum Distillery Experience is a sensory overload as you can see, hear, smell and taste Bundaberg Rum.

  • Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day

  • Fully enclosed shoes are recommended (though not mandatory)
  • Wheelchair and pram friendly, though there are a few rough surfaces so give us a call if you’re worried

  • 150 carparks, plus caravan parking available
  • The Bundaberg Rum Distillery is a fully-operational working site where highly flammable areas are present. This means:
  • You can't smoke anywhere near the Bundaberg Rum Distillery, including all car parks. We have safe smoking areas marked, so please follow these instructions carefully
  • Due to the risk of ignition, we don’t allow anything with a battery on the tour with you. This includes your camera, phone, and car keys. We have some lockers available for use free of charge prior to joining the tour if you need them
  • If you have a medically necessary device such as a hearing aid or an insulin pump, please let us know in advance

It was a great tour

It was a great tour. Our guide Alex was very funny and of course, the taste testing was enjoyable definitely recommend this tour for families as our daughter enjoyed herself as well. There is also plenty of history in the museum including info about the fire and the floods. Definitely go!
